So I found out about this pretty cool site http://www.acapellas4u.co.uk/index.php that lets you download vocal tracks to songs for free. I had always wanted to try my hand at remixing a song because it seemed really fun. Well I started to do this one Adele’s Rolling in the Deep because it’s such an awesome song, but turns out that creating remixes are hard to do!

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out the BPM.. I was stupid enough to try doing this by ear for a while, then realized that there are some visual cues and I could match it up visually with the waveforms and it was super easy.. duh! Well next time I’ll know better. This is just my first attempt and I may be working on it some more, will keep you guys updated

I don’t care if this little dude is in a diaper, he is awesome! I’m very impressed by his performance of this classic Beatles’ hit. Especially love the “better better betterbetterbetter AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!” part, so hilarious! and Adorable! YAY! He’s really pretty good though!

I keep watching this over and over because the song is just so catchy, and it’s really cute and funny too. Love love love it! LUFF it. Thank you schmoyoho. Double rainbow double rainbow allll the waaay!

So I recently started a music project with some people, we are writing boy/girl duet indie electro folk pop. Looks like this band, Faded Paper Figures has already beat us to the punch and also they sound pretty awesome. Check out their myspace.

“Radiohead held an online contest to remix “Nude” from their album – “In Rainbows” This was quite a difficult task for all the electronic musicians that entered, as Nude is in 6/8 timing, and 63bpm. Most music that’s played in clubs is around 120bpm and usually 4/4 timing. It’s near impossible to mix a waltz beat into a DJ set.”

“This resulted in lots of generic entries consisting of a typical 4/4 beat, but with arbitrary clips from “Nude” thrown in so that they qualified for the contest.

Thom Yorke joked at the ridiculousness of it in an interview for NPR radio, hinting that they set the competition “for a laugh” and to find out what would come out of such an impossible task.

I decided to take the piss a bit, as the contest seemed to be in that spirit.

Based on the lyric (and alternate title) “Big Ideas: Don’t get any” I grouped together a collection of old redundant hardware, and placed them in a situation where they’re trying their best to do something that they’re not exactly designed to do, and not quite getting there.

It doesn’t sound great, as it’s not supposed to.
